More shoulder rehab/prehab

February 18, 2010

I got a question on one of my posts today and it reminded me to put up this video I did on myofacial release for the shoulders.

I do this quite a lot myself and with clients that have some problems with the shoudlers or just general tightness. The rolling can really help to break down scar tissue that can limit your range of motion and cause faulty shoulder movement patterns.

Combine this with plenty of stretching and it can make a massive difference to not only shoulder health but also headaches as they can quite often be as a direct result of tight traps and tight shoudlers.

Have you got shoulder problems?

I frequently get clients and even just emails from people that get or have a long standing shoudlder problem.

With that in mind I did a session today working squats and gliding lunges paired with shoudler stability/strengthening work. I might also add that foam and tennis ball rolling of the shoulders really helps as I have detailed in a previous article on the shoulders.

Have a look at the video below and hope you find it useful and get some practical ideas. I certainly benefit from whats in the video and hope my squats continue to improve week on week
